In this movie, let's do something else with text. Let's look at symbols. Symbols are a great way to enhance your document and sometimes you work with other languages that you might need special symbols or special characters to enhance that information. So to add symbols, we need a text box. So I'm going to draw a text box here, going to increase my font size a little bit so we can all see it a little better. Now let's go up to insert, symbol. Right here it tells you your fonts and then the subset that you're looking at. As you can see, there's lots of items to choose from and as you scroll down, you'll see lots and lots more. The most common ones or recently used are down here. Copyright definitely used a lot, trademark. The one I get asked about the most is your cents symbol. Nobody knows where to find that cents symbol and there it is. Go to insert symbol. So click that, click insert, it automatically put it in my document here. I can close out and I can go over here and type in whatever I need to go with that. I'm going to go back to insert and symbol and as you scroll down, take some time to look through some of those because you may not realize which ones you do or don't need. The letter E, a lot of times that's needed for the different Spanish information. And scroll down through those. You'll also notice that you can look at so many different fonts; the Webdings and Wingdings are in here. So again, that's kind of a repetitive place. Put it in as a symbol rather than using it in a bulleted list. It'd be a great symbol if you put the little phone beside your phone number. It's another great symbol to put some things in by an email address or a website address. Take a look at some of those and see what you might use. Here's some numbers that would be awesome instead of a numbered list. These are definitely more fancy things to use. So take a minute. Just go play around with the symbols. You can kind of loose track of time playing around with these things, but they're great ideas to again enhance your document. You're wanting people to read that and you're wanting people to pay attention to certain areas. So take a minute to look through those on your computer.
