Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie, let's take a look at another mail merge; mail merging the postcards. So let's open up Publisher and let's select a postcard and double click on one of those to work with. You'll see they give you some nice spots. Here are text boxes to provide information and our primary business address, contact information, again, very important and don't forget that logo. Include your logo in your communication always. Let's go to page two. Now, this is where we put the mail merge information in. We put our information here, the mail merge goes right there. So let's highlight that text and delete it but leave the text box. Let's go to tools, mailings and catalogs and go to mail merge. Let's use our existing list that we've been using throughout our other movies, grab that database. Here we've got everybody. I'm going to uncheck our last one so we don't have a blank postcard. click OK. Now, all we do is drag and drop that information onto our postcard. I'm going to space in between so that it's readable, obviously. Hit my enter key to drop down to the address line and hit my enter key to pull in the city comma space state space and zip. Ok. That goes on there very nicely and again, it's pretty small. I would increase that if you can. It's always nice to be able to read it easily. And here you see an example. And you can arrow through the examples as always. And again, go through your final step, merge that, print them off. You can print them off on your own printer, especially if it can do duplex, that will make it really easy or you can print out one side and zip the paper back through for the other side. Or in the following movies, I'll show you to take that a commercial printer so they can print you off your postcards. So take some time, go in, build a mail merge postcard. It's a cheaper way to get your mailings out than a big, old newsletter and people will quickly read postcards because they don't take a lot of time. They can look at those quickly, see what you want. If you've got a sale and they'll either take action obviously or throw it away. Hopefully they don't because you've made this very enticing. So take a minute, look at those postcards and see what you can do.
