Getting He|p / Office Online
Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie, let's take a look at some more help options. Let's look at Office Online. We always need help with something usually, so let's take a look at more options and also interact with a community of members who might have the same questions. To get to Office Online, simply go up to help and go down to Microsoft Office Online. Once you get to their website, and you can just type in that link if you want to, click on the help and how to tab and we're there with all kinds of options to get information. You'll notice the little question mark, the same symbol that we saw within the Publisher window. So if we click within our search box and let's type in graphics; see if we can get some information there. I can just click the search button and now it goes out there and finds me all kinds of information. I can read about it. There's also different things I can download. They've got some how to's, all kinds of good information. I can just go back to the top and type in another subject. I'm going to type in rulers and guides. I want to also show you that you can hit the little down arrow here beside the search button and you can search specific areas if you want to. But I'm going to just do the whole thing, click the search button and here's some more information. Here I can troubleshoot ruler guides and layout guides within Publisher, read all kinds of information, so on and so forth. So take advantage of Office Online to get some help. Another place you can look at is the Office Online community. So if we click that link, we go right here and what this will do is let us look at different posts and threads people have submitted and we'll get lots of information. So let's type in rulers and guides here. And we can click the down arrow to be more specific, but we wanted to look in Office, that's why we're there so we're going to go and click go. It's going out there finding me some information and here it is. I'll widen this so you can see. It's telling me some information. These are certain posts that people have submitted. I can click on that and now it's loading and giving me information over here to the right. I can click on the next one and again find more information. So the more specific you are in your search, the better posts you're going to hit on so you might want to write in there that it's for Publisher and be as specific as you can, just so you can quickly and efficiently find your information. This is a great way to interact with other people and meet people online so that you can develop a working relationship. One more thing that's available, I'm going to click the back button so I can clear back to Office Online, the help and how to tab. RSS feeds; they're at the top here. Click that and that will take you to a listing of so many RSS feeds you won't believe it. These are free; that's the best part. See right there? They're free of charge. You can click any of the links like it tells you so, subscribe to that feed and it will automatically pull to your computer. That's a great way just to get some information ahead of time, read through it when you're ready, you'll always be up to date. So take a look at those RSS feeds. Now, if you need other information or still need help, just go to a search engine like Google, so I'm going to go to Google here and when I'm there, I can just type in Publisher 2007 rulers and guides. That will take me to some articles or some specific help places that I can look at. I could also try to look at joining some listserves. I could type listserves in there. I can type in newsletters maybe to get some more information. You could also just email me, your instructor, if you have a little quick question that I can help you with. But overall, there's all kinds of resources available out there so take advantage of it and get help with Publisher if you need it.
