Start a New Project / Insert Tasks

Subtitles of the Movie

Alright after you've started to define your project here, even if you got a list of all the tasks that you think you'll need to get your project done, there is always something that will crop up later or you'll want to rearrange things sometimes. Well you can certainly do that project allowance for that and it's easy to insert tasks, but it's something that's worth while to show you how to do and give you a couple of options. One is that you can use the insert menu so you can select a task just by selecting, giving it a click in the number column here and go to the insert menu and click on new tasks. Notice that you can also hit the insert key on your keyboard. Why don't I do that here and try hitting the insert key. If I do that notice that it places that insertion point before the currently selected task, so what was the 7th gets moved to the 8th and now I have a new place for a task. So let's do storyboard as one of my additional tasks that I need to insert. If I need to ever insert multiple tasks I can make a selection of tasks and say I got three that I want to put there. You can also use the right click, right click, new task, I can use the insert to insert button on my keyboard and I got a place for three additional tasks. Now what if I want to get rid of those tasks, what if I have a placeholder here and I want to now get rid of it? Well, again hit the delete key, you can right click and delete the task, you can use the edit menu and the edit menu gives you yet another way to delete the task. There's the delete task right there, I'll select right click, delete the task and boom it's gone. Can I delete multiple tasks, can I move tasks around? That's what I just did, notice the cursor changed but look at this arrow that's my click and drag to select multiple tasks, delete task and I don't even have to have information about the task, I can just delete the place. If it has a number by it then project is tracking it as a task or at least it's entering some placeholder information that there is a task here, there is just no information about the task. To recap inserting a task, pretty basic stuff, all you have to do really is remember to either select a task name, select the entire task, right click or use the insert menu to insert a new task.
