Now earlier we seen how to configure a material resource and use that material resource as we assign it to task, so what this looks like here, let's say I have the storyboard task here and I want to assign a material resource poster board, we'll need some poster board to make storyboards and each one of those things cost 20 bucks at the art supply store. So, fine, let me go back to the Gant chart, I will assign resources. So I will assign two, let me close this out and select this first, select the storyboard task, assign resources, and we'll assign poster board at a rate of 5. So what does that mean, it means that I've configured 5 poster boards to be assigned to this task and the cost is going to be 100 bucks. Well what if this is something that costs me five of these per day and that storyboarding it may change, it may take 5 days, it may take 15 days and what I want to keep track of, is I need a budget, 5 poster boards per day for this thing, Well again I can do that with the assigned resources dialog box, instead of 5 I'll do 5 per day. So now with a 7 day task, I've got 5 per day at a cost of 20 bucks per. So that means I am going to consume 5 of them per day over the course of the 7 days, it works out to a 100 dollars a day or 700 bucks. So you can assign variable use of resources and that let's me budget so that if the thing extends to 10 days like this then my poster board is still budgeted at 5 dollars day but that of course will effect the overall budget of that task. The overall cost of that task. So as you can see there is really nothing to it all you have to remember when you're assigning material resource is that you can assign a flat number of material to a task or you can assign a variable amount of resources and material resources to a task by just entering in a per day a per week or even per hour value in your assigned resources dialog box like we've just seen.
