Let's say you need to insert a Word or Excel chart into your PowerPoint presentation. You've already gone ahead and created a chart or someone in the organization has and instead of trying to create that from scratch in PowerPoint, you just want to bring it in from Word or Excel. Well, again, this is very simple to do when working in the Microsoft Office family. First of all, let's take a look at our Word chart and here we have it. We have a bubble chart, but what I want to do is select this chart. I want to copy it and then simply what I'm going to do is paste it, put my cursor in here and paste into PowerPoint. Now, at this point, if you've watched the earlier scene when I tried to do this with a table, what happened was all of the text just got spilled loosely at separate bullet points into the table. Well, that's really not the case when you're working with charts because it is a visual representation of the data, not a text representation. So watch what happens. My chart is automatically just pasted in as is into PowerPoint. Now, the same thing's going to happen when I'm working with Excel. Let's get rid of that, go to my Excel chart. Here I have my chart and, again, an area chart. I'm going to click that, copy it or control C, go back to PowerPoint, do the same thing here, paste and we have my chart. Very handy. Again, I can resize that, move it around if I'd like, like so. So that's how you insert a chart from another application like Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel. Simply copy from Word or Excel and then paste into your PowerPoint slide.
