Getting Started / Working with a Blank Presentation

Subtitles of the Movie

Ok. I think we are ready to get started finally with our first PowerPoint presentation. You have your sleeves rolled up? Your mouse finger's ready to go? Ok. First thing we need to do, of course, if to launch PowerPoint. I'm going to do that by double clicking on the desktop shortcut and here we go. We have a blank canvas. There is no text, no themes, there's no art, nothing. All we have is a title container and a subtitle container. We can start clicking to add our title and we can do the same for our subtitle. Not very clever, but you get the idea. Now, let's say we want to create a new blank presentation from here. Got to the Office button, click new and holy smokes, we have quite the plethora of options. We can work with recently used templates in the section here. We can pull from award certificates. Notice that that connected online. Content slides. So there's some really neat stuff you have here at your disposal, but we want to work with a blank theme. Well come back and look at these later. Now, to do that with a blank presentation, I have two options. Of course I can double click this here or I can just, once it's selected, click the create button. So double click or, once it's selected, click the create button. We'll do that and we have a blank presentation. Once again, nothing but a title box, subtitle box. Everything we do from this point from forward is completely up to your imagination and creativity and we'll explore how to do that in the upcoming scenes.
