I'm your author John Kuman it's a pleasure to meet you and I hope you've had a good chance to learn quite a bit about PowerPoint in this tutorial. This particular scene is designed to give you a little bit of background on me and to hopefully show you that I am not too much of a bozo when it comes to working with PowerPoint. Here's a little on my background, I've been working with PowerPoint for about the last 15 years in various versions of that, all the way up to the new one here, PowerPoint 2007. I work in higher education and have seen PowerPoint slaughtered and misused by many of my colleagues and I hope we can avoid that in this tutorial. Now I have also been the author of two Virtual Training Company titles including Macromedia FreeHand MX as well as Macromedia Contribute 2. Here you can see I kind of come from more of a visual background even though I am a writer by trade and I have been the contributing author for Macromedia's MX 2004 Suite where I worked on the FreeHand chapters. And I am also the contributing author to XML, HTML, XHTML Magic, That's a book about how to use those various mark-up languages to build some great websites and last but not least I like to think I'm just kind of a all around swell guy and hopefully my family and friends agree with that. But then again their not here, I get to say. So I am a swell guy and one other last item, due to the nature of this medium I am not able to hit every single component of PowerPoint and I know there's going to be questions or topics that I was not able to cover and you may be looking for some answers.
