PowerPoint Basics / Moving Between Slides

Subtitles of the Movie

This next lesson involves getting between your slides. How you get from slide to slide or go to a particular slide? Well, there are many different ways. First I can actually go over to the scroll bar on the right-hand side and scroll through all of my slides. I can also drag the bar in between - notice as I am dragging this bar, a bubble appears showing me where I am in the slide presentation as I scroll. So if there is a particular slide that I want got to I can drag this bar and it will tell me once I get to that particular slide. These double arrows in the lower right hand corner take me to the previous slide and the next slide. Another way to get to them, notice my 1,2,3,4,5 over here in outline, I can actually click on whatever slide it is that I want to go to. With regard to the using the keyboard I have a page up and page down button. On the keyboard if you use page up and page down, it takes you from slide to slide. You also have a home and end button on your keyboard. The home button takes you to your first slide, the end button takes you to your last slide. So, again there are several ways I can use the scroll bar to get to a particular slide. I can use the outline portion of normal view to get a particular slide. I can use page up and page down on the keyboard to go from slide to slide. And I can use home and end to go to my first and last slides.
