PowerPoint Basics / PowerPoint Views

Subtitles of the Movie

Well we have just kind of gone through what is referred to as the normal view - these three different sections. There are others ways to view your presentation. If you remember, we talked about the view menu briefly, normal view is where we are, the next view is slide sorter. Slide sorter shows me miniaturized versions of all of my slides, and I can look at them, I can rearrange them and also in this view perform certain animations. Another view is notes page, it looks like this. I see a preview of the slide, and I also have a section where I can actually type in what it is I want to talk about with regard to this slide. The last, is slide show - so I can actually view my presentation, my special effects and my sound effects and everything. So those are the main views within Powerpoint. There is (and I am just going back to normal view) another way to get to these views. If you see these really small buttons at the bottom of outline view - this outline section. If you hold your mouse pointer above them, they are quick ways to get all those different views: normal view, outline view, slide view, slide sorter and slide show. Now you are probably wondering wait a minute I did not see outline and slide view under view in the menu bar. True, you didn't. If you click on them, this outline view focuses on the outline or the left-hand portion of normal view. Slide view focuses on just the slide. Notice how I just have a little buttons in effect for my different slides. But if I hold my mouse pointer above them, it actually tells me the title of the slide. And of course slide sorter view, you've already seen. So these little buttons simply get me quickly to all of the different views that are within Powerpoint.
