PowerPoint Basics / About PowerPoint
Subtitles of the Movie
Let's get started. First of all, what is Powerpoint? Powerpoint is a presentation program, it takes text and graphics and sound and video and animation and it puts it all together into a great presentation. It's essentially a slide show - you have all of these slides. The nice thing about Powerpoint is it takes information that may possibly be a bit bland and it puts it into an aesthetically pleasing way. I am sure you've all been through presentations where some one stands in the front of the room and they have a little 3/5 postcards and they are reading from them and then speaking monotonously and it's driving you insane and you fall asleep in 10 minutes. Well Powerpoint can take that same information - you add some graphics, a bit of animation, some bright colors and before you know it "Wow people are actually paying attention". That is what Powerpoint does, and I am going to show you how to create a presentation. The first thing I am going to do is go through this entire window and explain what everything is.
