Creating New Presentations / Adding and Deleting Slides

Subtitles of the Movie

When you create a presentation from scratch or even if you use the auto content wizard, you will at some point in time want to add or delete slides. Well, let's talk about adding some first. You can go to common tasks and choose new slide. You can use the new slide button, which is right here (that little sparkly one up in the left hand corner), or you can go to insert in menu bar to new slide. There is also a short cut key, which is CTRL+M, and (I told you you would be seeing this again) you need to choose a layout. What type of layout would you like for your new slide? And remember you have quite a few to choose from - I am just going to pick this one and click OK. And here's my new slide, and I can add as many as I like. Again common tasks to new slide or you can use the new slide button here, insert to new slide or the shortcut CTRL+M. Choose a type of slide, click OK and there it is. If you want to delete a slide - let's say you know what I really didn't want this one, I don't want to use this, I don't like it. Simply go to Edit in the menu bar and choose delete slide. So to add a slide, common tasks, the button, insert - if you don't like it, decide you don't need it any more, simply go to edit, to delete slide and it's gone. Another way to delete a slide, if you are in slide sorter view and you don't want a slide you can actually hit the delete key on the keyboard. So I can also insert a slide from here, insert a view - if I don't need it I can actually hit the delete key. So I can insert a slide, select it, and if I don't want it hit delete. And that is how you insert and delete slides. In the next chapter I am going to cover all about modifying presentations.
