Now as you create and send messages there are going to be times when you're not ready to send it the minute you've finished writing it. Perhaps you want to review it later, you have to look up some information to make sure of the date or some particular information about an event or something else in the message is accurate, maybe you simply don't want to send it right away. Maybe it shouldn't go out till the end of the week but you wanted to get the writing of it done today. Whatever the reason, messages can easily be saved as Drafts to be reopened, proofed, further edited, whatever you need to do and then sent later. Now I'm going to set up this message, a simple message. It'll look familiar with the same message we've been working with in some of our other lessons and I'm going to paste the body of the message here so you don't have to watch me type and once you've gotten your message ready to go, let's say I needed to verify the date of this staff meeting or I needed to get the names of the rest of the department heads who have been told that they're required at this staff meeting, whatever might be motivating me to hold off on sending this, once I've composed the message all I have to do is go up here and hit the Save button. As soon as I do that you're going to see, there it is, a little 1 appear in the Drafts folder here and the word Drafts appears in bold to let you know that you have messages waiting to go. Now, the message is in Drafts and if you want to reopen it all you have to do is go to Drafts. You see the list of the messages. It does appear in the Preview Pane at the bottom but if you want to edit it simply double-click it. The message window reopens. You can make whatever further changes you needed to make and then hit Send which will send it to the Outbox and there you saw the Outbox emptied quickly as the message was sent on its way. So it's easy to hang onto a message, maybe just so you can review it and make sure you're saying everything the way you wanted to, to make sure you've got all the recipients properly addressed, everyone included who should be, or just to delay the sending of the message. But just Save it, it goes to Drafts and then when you're ready open it up and click Send.
