Well you've made it! That's it, that is the Outlook 2007 tutorial. Want to quickly go over what we have covered in this tutorial. In chapter 1 as you recall, we mostly took a preview of some of the new features, and we setup Outlook to work especially with a new e-mail account. In fact chapters 1, 2, and 3 all had to do generally with the subject of handling e-mail, and that's usually the central task for Outlook, is dealing with e-mail. And of course as we saw there's so much more we can do with e-mail. We can create it, create a task out of e-mail, we can create an appointment out of e-mail, we can create contacts out of e-mail. So we spent about 50% to maybe 75% of our time with Outlook just dealing with e-mail. So in chapter 2 we composed, received and handled e-mail. In chapter 3 we talked about things like the Quick Search that's now built into Outlook 2007, using some of the new flag behavior with categories, views, and lists. In chapters 4, 5, and 6 we generally looked at the topics of managing contacts, managing time, and managing tasks. In chapter 4 we looked at creating a new contact, manipulating the views, printing out contacts. In chapter 5 we made appointments, and we used calendar customization to specify our working days for example, and we can also print out certain parts of the calendar. In chapter 6 we looked at tasks, and at notes. We did our to-do list, we looked at that new feature of Outlook 2007, some of our new task options that we have, and we organized those tasks, we grouped them together, and again we looked at notes in that module as well. The next three chapters had to do with customization and maintenance. And in those we dealt with rules for example, in our look at more advanced Outlook topics in chapter 7, rules signatures and stationery. In chapter 8 a lot of data maintenance, because we have to be sure that we protect that big store of information that Outlook represents. So we backed up, we restore, we deleted information so that our data store doesn't get unmanageable. And we also imported information from elsewhere. And then in chapter 9 we looked at some behaviors that we could configure, such as signing e-mails, encrypting e-mail, so we looked a lot at security there. Not only that but we blocked HTML content to help save us from junk mail, and spam, and phishing, and things like that. And then we also configured Outlook to auto respond, we saved a template and then we pointed Outlook to that template if it meets certain conditions. So in chapter 9 we combined a lot of technologies and features that we had learned about throughout the other previous eight modules. Finally in chapter 10, as you know, we looked at some really cool tips and tricks. Started out to do just ten tips and tricks, but we threw in a bonus tip. So the end result, at the end of this tutorial, you have gotten the modules through chapters 1 through 9, gotten a lot of practical everyday information for use of Outlook 2007 in that. You combine that, and this actually was supposed to look like this, combine that with your eleven cool tips and trick, plus me there for support, and I'll talk about that actually in the author video. So if you're listening to this video, make sure you listen to the author video as well, because I'll give you a valuable resource at the end of this. At the end of this, you combine those chapters, the 11 cool tips and tricks, with my general knowledge of Outlook 2007, my working with the product, my desire to always explore more. They say that the best way to learn something is to teach it. And certainly that's been the case as I've brought you this tutorial. Because I've certainly learned a lot about the product, I thought I knew a lot before and I've been working with it since it's days in beta. But still there are some things that I didn't know about, or I explore, click around, like oh wow I did not know that Outlook could do that. Or I did not know that that too had been an improvement over previous behavior. So the end result, both for you and certainly for me, is a better use of Outlook to manage your time, manage your tasks, and manage your e-mail as never before. Thanks for picking up the tutorial. Please stay in touch with any questions you have, and of course in the author video I will give you my contact information so that you can contact me with questions you have. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope that the end result, again, is better use of Outlook for you.
