Web Design Basics / Learning About HTML
Subtitles of the Movie
HTML stands for Hypertext Mark-up Language. It is a set of codes that defines the layout and structure of a web page. These codes are called tags and control how the page looks and acts. As you can see here, this is what a page would look like in the HTML view. These items here are the codes, as you can see in between, the blue and the code here. When you are surfing the Internet your web browser will translate these HTML codes into a web page that you can see on screen. For example, I will click preview here, and we are able to view this on our screen. And this is what it would basically look like. Now, it certainly does look different from what we just saw a moment ago. Until recently, probably 5-6 years ago, you had to learn all the HTML tags to create a web page. Now learning the tags itself did not take that long, however creating the tags took an incredible amount of time. However, this all changed with the new FrontPage editor, in which the editor will automatically generate the HTML code for you. Microsoft FrontPage 2002 is what is known as the WYSIWYG editor, or What You See Is What You Get, and it will generate all the HTML for you. What this means is that you can spend more time creating a professional looking website, rather than sacrificing time creating HTML code. HTML code.
