Web Design Basics / Planning Your Site

Subtitles of the Movie

Before you jump right in and start building that website, let's take a few moments to plan it out and decide what it is you want to include in your website. There are several things that you should consider before you start to build your website. The first is images and graphics. You will need to determine and collect the type of images that you want to use on your site. Keep in mind that very large image files can slow down the download time of your web pages. Tables are another consideration. Do you want to include tables on your website? Tables are a very quick and easy way to organize and display information on your site. If you want to use tables on your site, you will need to collect the information and the data that will be going into the tables. This will save you some time when your are building your site, if you have the information gathered and collected beforehand. Forms will allow you to create information that you can use to survey your visitors with, etc. You can create forms that contain text, image and other information. If you want to use forms on your website, it's also a good idea to collect the information for the forms and map out generally what type of forms you want to use. Another important consideration is the visitors. Who will be visiting your website? And what will be the purpose of their visit? Are they customers, clients, or are they simply people who are surfing the web and land on your site. A final consideration is, if you want to create what is known as an e-commerce website. If you are building a business site and you want to sell products and services on your website, you should consider building an e-commerce website. When you consider building an e-commerce website, you should look at what type of products or services you will be selling, how much this product or service will cost, other considerations with the taxes, shipping cost, etc. axes, shipping cost, etc.
