To create a 3D effect for text or a graphic, select the item that you want to create the 3D effect for. Then select 3D style from your drawing toolbar. To activate the 3D settings toolbar, click on 3D settings, then the 3D toolbar will appear on your screen. Your first option is to either turn the 3D on, or turn it off. The small square to the right of the box will turn it on, and the one on, the other one will turn it off obviously. And we will turn it back on. Your first few options relate to the way the text will appear on your screen. The first one is tilt down. When you select this option, your text will rotate or your 3D text will rotate 6 degrees around a horizontal axis. When you select tilt up, the 3d will rotate 6 degrees around the horizontal axis facing up. The left, when you select this, 3d will once again rotate 6 degrees around the vertical axis facing to the left, and the same will occur when you click tilt right. Your next options refer to the depth of the 3d, how deep you want the particular letters to be. Click on this option, and you are able to set various depths for the letters, and we will select 36 . Next option is the direction that you want the particular text to go in or to appear. Select direction and you can select from various options, and we will select this one by clicking on it, then highlighting it. And as you can see it is now facing upwards. The next option refers to the lighting. And the lighting is very important part to 3D, since this is the way that the effect will take place. You can choose from several lighting options, for example, this option the light will shine down on it, directly on to it, and there's other options here also. Once you've set the direction of the light, then you will need to set how bright you want the light to appear. The light can be bright, such as it is here, normal, along with dim. Make your selection, then move to the next icon, which is the surface. Click on the surface and you are able to select various surface features for your particular 3D item or text. You can have a wire frame and it will appear like this. And this particular item is actually difficult to read. Plastic, or perhaps you can have the good old metal frame. Make your selection, then move on to the next section, which is the last section, which is 3D color. Click on the drop down box to make your selection. You can choose the automatic color or the default color, by clicking on any one of these standard colors. Or you can select more 3D colors, by first of all creating the custom color. To create a custom color, you can either place your mouse key anywhere within the color palette, and move it along. And as you can see when I am doing this, the red, green, and blue, which are the three main colors in the color model (RGB) are changing when I am moving the mouse key. You will also notice in the preview box on the right hand side that this particular color is also changing here. This item here will allow you to increase the brightness or contrast by moving up and down. Once you've finished creating your custom color, you can click ok, and it will be applied to the screen. Your other option is to click standard, where you are able to select a standard color from the color model. By placing your mouse key anywhere in the color that you want to choose, for example we will choose blue, and then click ok and the changes will take place on your screen. e will choose blue, and then click ok and the changes will take place on your screen.
