A brand new feature of FrontPage 2002 is the share point [SharePoint] web team. In this section, I will give you a brief overview of the main features of this particular option. If you are building a corporate or business website, then share point is the option for you. SharePoint is used mainly for large website building projects, where there are perhaps many team members involved, and the team members may be either in the same office or in different locations. The SharePoint web team features will allow you to share files, graphics, photos, and other information with team members. Keep in mind that building a website with a share point team is a little different than working with the regular websites in FrontPage. The first difference is the site is not published locally. Instead it is published directly to the server. Then on the server, you are able to edit the content from the web server. It is important to note that some content cannot be edited directly from the server, and only certain individuals have access to this information. Some of the information that you cannot edit from the server include: special announcements (if you are running a business site), events, surveys and the document libraries. In this course, our main focus will be on creating a more personal website or a website for a small business, rather than a team site.
