To set line or paragraph spacing, or paragraph or line indentation, select in page view the paragraph or paragraphs that you want the paragraph alignment to take place on. Highlight the paragraph or paragraphs, right click, select paragraph. Your first option in the paragraph dialog box is to set the alignment. The alignment refers to the way the paragraph appears on the page. For example, the paragraph could be in the center of the page, the right of the page. As you can see here when I click right, this is what the paragraph would appear like in the preview box. We will return to the default setting. Your next option refers to the indentation. You can do several things in this particular area, The first one is: if you want to indent the left side of the paragraph, select before text, enter a value in pixels in the box. If you are sure of the value, you can leave it set at the default or you can experiment a little bit, and click on the drop down keys, and just view what it would appears like in the preview box. And we will leave this, we will return this back to zero. If you wish to indent the right side of the paragraph, enter a value of pixels in the after text box. The final option in the indentation box is to indent the first line of a paragraph, text in a paragraph, enter a value of pixels in the indent first line box. The next option is spacing. In the spacing option box, you have several options to use. The first one is before box. To set the amount of space above each paragraph, enter a value in pixels in this box. If you wish to set the amount of space that is seen below each paragraph, enter the number of pixels in this box. For example, we will select 2, and as you can see the space is below here. If you wish to set the amount of vertical space between lines of text, you can choose the lines spacing box, by selecting either single spacing, 1.5 spacing or a double spacing. The final option is the word spacing box. You are able to set the amount of space between words, by entering a value in pixels in the word box. It is important to note that when you are making these changes in the paragraph dialog box, that some web browsers will not display all of these line and paragraph settings. What this means is, you may set for example spacing between the words, you may set it at 2 or 3 pixels. And what will occur is visitors will go to your website, they'll login to your website, or browse to your website, and they will not be able to read the text on the screen because their browser is not able to translate it. This is very important to keep in mind when you are building your website. Once you've made all your selections, click ok for the settings to take place, where you will be returned back to the page that you were currently working on. returned back to the page that you were currently working on.
