Subtitles of the Movie
In this movie, let's keep working on our troubleshooting tips. A lot of times I get asked about spelling errors, people say their spelling errors are not getting underlined. If that is the case you can simply go up to Tools and then go to Spelling and go to Spelling Options, right here is where you can check all that and right here is where it says Check Spelling as You Type. You might have Hide Spelling Errors On, so make sure that you've looked at that and see what you need. Now another thing that people do sometimes is put tables on a page and then the table goes flying off the page, it's gigantic. What you want to check is your Table Width; make sure it's not going over 100 percent. So let's bring a blank page up here and let's insert a Table. Right here on the Width make sure it doesn't go beyond a 100 percent. Sometimes it just accidentally happens, people are working in pixels and they flip it and then you end up with a 500 percent table so it's gigantic. So that's where you'll want to check there. Forms are another element I want to talk to you about. When you make a Form and you put an Email recipient in there, it'll ask you to remove that recipient, it's because you're working on disk based web and it did happen to us during our movies. What it's telling you is that local pages can't process those forms. But you can just ignore that because once you upload the forms to the server that has those FrontPage Server Extension it's all going to process and work just fine, so don't worry about that pop-up when it tells you to remove that email recipient. Task Panes, if you don't see your Task Panes, first of all resize, make sure that, that's not the issue. The other thing you can do is go up to Task Panes here, remember and check the item that you want to look at. The Picture Toolbar, sometimes people insert pictures, so let's go do that and when they click on their picture the Picture Toolbar is not popping up for them like they expect. So what you have to do is go to View, go down to Toolbars and choose Pictures, then right there is your Picture Toolbar, very simple and easy. Another thing that happens periodically is people can't remove a Tag, a Tag meaning if they've selected using like the Quick Tag Editor or gone in here to remove a Tag. If it won't let you delete an HTML Tag it's because it would cause errors on the page. So keep that in mind, there might be a certain container that you can't delete or something like that. So if it won't let you delete it, there's a reason for it. Page Transitions are something else that people add to websites. If you can't see your Page Transitions, make sure you're using Internet Explorer and you've got to be at 5.5 or above. Some of the things inside Expression Web only work with that IE Browser. Now, if you see the transition that you have inputted and you're still not seeing it, then what you want to do is go check your Internet Explorer Settings. You want to go tools and Internet Options and go to that Advanced Tab, go to the Browsing Section and make sure Enable Page Transitions is checked. And finally, my last little tip here, if you can't attach a style sheet make sure you're in Design View, because Code View doesn't allow you to attach the CSS Style Sheet on that Apply Styles Task Pane, you've got to be in Design View. There's your troubleshooting tips, the most common things either I have run across personally or people have asked me about typically in all types of Web Programs. So if you have any either issues with Expression Web, you know go online, just do a quick search with a search engine type in your exact error and the problem, Expression Web remember does have it's Solution Center and of course you can always just email me and I can try to help you figure it out.
