Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, let's talk about all that we've learned in Expression Web. We've gone from the very beginning of just getting a basic introduction of what Expression Web is available for, then we moved into all the elements that we can do within Expression Web. We can create sites, brand new, or we can import them. Once we've created a site we can package it up and give it to somebody in the form of a Personal Web Package or we can just upload it ourselves with FTP and all kinds of different options there. We can use pre-made sites if we don't want to make them from brand new within Expression Web, we can base those on templates and we can even make Master Pages which is based upon ASP. Within any of our pages no matter what type of website or page that we create we can add all types of things. You can add your Basic Text, we've added Photos and Graphics, we've added Flash items, you can even create Image Maps. Of course you can do your basic linking, you can link to anything, you can link to PDF files, basic text files or other ASP, HTML Pages. One of the greatest things in Expression Web is our CSS Style Sheets. We can use pre-made Style Sheets or create our own from scratch and connect all of our pages to those CSS Style Sheets so we have a consistent look across our entire website. The next item we looked at when we went through all of our movies in Expression Web were tables. Tables are a great way to organize information, you can have the borders on there so people can tell it's a table or you can just remove it so that people can just see your organized set of information. Forms are also what we looked at, a great way to gather information on your website. You can easily add the form, add those controls, whether it's a HTML form or an ASP form, you can add those to your website and then connect the processing script from your website host to make those pop-up. You can also use the internal FrontPage Server Extensions to process your forms as long as your web host has that installed. Next, we looked at several interactive behaviors, we can create jump menus, we can have Expression Web automatically pop-up messages and tell people things. We can have it swap images, we can do all kinds of interesting things within Expression Web and have the computer check for things to. We can have it check the browser, so that if that browser doesn't work well with our site we can automatically redirect them. Expression Web also has some great reports, reports tell us all kinds of things about our site and also can keep it running well. We can check those reports on a monthly basis so that we can see old files. Maybe they need to be removed. We can check for broken hyperlinks to make sure we keep things up to date, so use those reports. Accessibility Features are an element within Expression Web, that's also another report, make sure your site is accessible, make sure that anybody, no matter what platform or what situation that their using or that their using their computer in they can easily use your site. The last set of movies; we looked at all the extra things within Expression Web. We learned alittle bit more about those HTML codes and Tags, so that you can start increasing your knowledge with Web Design. We also looked at Data Views, using those XML files and having the Data Views option of sorting and filtering our information. You also know now that there's add-ins for Expression Web, you can go out there and search and add interesting new things to Expression Web. You can also add a little bit of a JavaScript, you can add some e-commerce to your website or try some marketing options. And finally we looked at different layers, how you can layer your pages if you want to use that effect and of course how you can use some different ASP controls to enhance your site, that calendar or the Ad Rotator. So we've learned a lot in Expression Web, continue working with the program and if you ever need any assistance feel free to email me.
