Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie, I'm going to take a file, this file right here that I grabbed off my web server, edit it and then publish it back. You'll notice these blue arrows signify that its going to bring it down to my local PC, the arrow that points to the right means you're going to publish it up to the web host and the double arrow is just going to let it synchronize itself. It's going to look at that Time Stamp and see which one is newer and make sure that one is the most recent on both sides. Down here at the bottom you can see if you want to publish the website you can do Local to Remote, Remote to Local or you can have it synchronized, any of those elements and then just hit Publish Website. You can also view your log file down there, we looked at that before in a different spot and we can open up our Remote Website in Expression Web. So we've got this file, I've got it open right here and let's say, we type something in there and we save it, close out of that. Now, the only thing I have to do here is Upload it or Publish it, so you hit Publish and then what we'll do is go online and take a look at that. You'll see right there is the text that I added. So you can grab any file on any site that you have the rights to do, bring it down to your local computer and then publish it back. The arrows are really nice, they tell you which way it's going, it tells you up here where your local site is. You can refresh the view; I have to do that quite frequently to make sure I'm seeing all the files that I've got. This site is very big, so of course it's going to take a while to refresh. I can go up levels of folders, a lot of times when people upload and download they can't figure out how to get back up, so you just hit the Arrows there on the folders and this puts you at the base. If you don't see that folder have an Up Arrow anymore, so I have double click on it and then you'll see that repeat and show up. I can select something and just delete it if I don't need it anymore. So you see you've got lots of options on Publishing. When you publish what you need is number one, you've already got your site set up on your computer, so your first step of course, we did this before, go to File, Publish Site. Once your in there to publish your site, you've got to know your username and your password and the location to publish all your files to. So check with your website host, they'll give you a username and a password and an FTP place or HTTP whatever you need plus the folder that it's going to be held in on their server. So take a minute, look at the Publishing Options, if you already have your information for publishing go ahead and try to publish. If you don't get a hold of web host, send them an email, give them a call, ask them what the FTP path is, what your username password, get that information so you can start uploading.
