There are times when you need to see more data that can fit on one screen. For this, there is a zoom control in Excel that allows you to zoom out of or into an area of cells. The zoom control button may be hidden, so look under the more buttons area, and then find the box that has 100 percent. The down-pointing triangle next to that reveals other percentages that you may use to zoom out - to see more of the area of the spreadsheet, or zoom in to see less of the spreadsheet but larger individual cells. There is another area called selection. Let me go back to 100 percent, and then select an area of cells that I'd like to zoom in to be able to see. Once I've selected, go back to the list and select selection from the bottom. Now my screen will zoom in so that only those values fit in the viewing area, and it zooms into or out of that area to make them fit. To get back to the normal view, go back to the list and select 100 percent again. If you'd like to zoom to an exact percentage not shown on the list, simply select the 100 percent from the box, and then type in that number that you'd like to zoom to. When you hit enter, the area will zoom to that percent of 100. The zoom control can also be found in the view menu. By selecting view and going to zoom, you have the standard percentages shown in the list on the toolbar, a fixed selection, and also a custom from where you can select and type in an exact percentage. m from where you can select and type in an exact percentage.
