The next area on the Excel screen, are buttons representing column headings and then row numbers going down the left side of the screen. A combination of these two is a name for each and every cell in the middle of the worksheet area. For instance, the cell that I've entered this information in is called C6. First you read the column heading number, the letter C, and then the row number across the left side of the screen, 6. If I wanted to see if I could get to cell D14 I would click in that cell, and then watch as the column heading and row numbers highlight, on the top and left sides of the screen.
