Another type of visual content is the addition of a Text Box to our documentation. This feature has been greatly expanded on in 2007. It's important to understand all the built-in devices that come with Text Boxes now, for the Examination. For instance, let's go to the word Insert and go over to the Text Box Section. The first thing you'll notice is there is a wide variety of built-in boxes. The idea is that I could choose one of these components, such as the Sidebar, and it quickly dresses up my documentation. If I'd like to put in a different type of Text Box, I'll return to Insert, return to Text Box, and then choose another Style. You will see that there are a number of different Styles that you can work with; all that's necessary is just to type your text. Now, keep in mind that the Text Box, as with most Pictures, can be manually changed. I will right-click on the actual Text Box itself and go to Format Auto Shape. Here you'll notice that it's very quick and easy to change the Color of the outside. I can change the Sizing, the Layout, and the Text Box itself. Here I can choose what my Alignment is of the words within. When I say OK any changes that were selected will appear on the screen. Returning to Insert, returning to Text Box, you will need to familiarize yourself with the different terminology that is used. Keep in mind that if, on the Examination, you're asked to Add a Text Box of a certain component, you'll want to just go through the actual text itself. You'll note that they're in alphabetical order. This will help you in finding the specific Sidebar that they may ask for. Also, keep in mind, that as in the past we can draw a manual Text Box. First, I'm going to return to my document and Delete the Text Box from the screen. Now I'll return to Text Box and go down to Draw the Text Box. You'll notice a Plus sign appears. I am going to choose the Plus sign and draw a Text Box on the screen. I can now go in and choose any kind of Style that I'd like to. As usual, once I type, it'll appear in the Text Box itself. Any words that are in the Text Box can be formatted with any of the other Tools. In this case, I'm going to choose to just increase the Font Size, and Center it. Remember also, that a right-click allows me to change the Styles. If I'd like to choose a new Quick Style I can. If I'd like to rearrange this for Bullets, or for Paragraph arrangement, I can. Any of the information in the Text Box can be formatted as any other component on your Word document. Keep in mind that when working with Text Boxes it's important to understand that they work in conjunction with the other features. Also remember, there are Built-in Text Boxes and Manual Text Boxes. Be comfortable with adding both when you take the Examination.
