Hello. I'd like to welcome you to the Virtual Training Company production and presentation of Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5 Basics. Now, if you've been around the Web Development world for very long you know that it continues to evolve at a very rapid pace and Microsoft has upgraded ASP.NET to version 3.5 and what we're going to do in this video is go through some of the basics and show you some of the ways that Microsoft continues to simplify and empower web developers to do some really, really cool stuff with web applications. My name's Mark Long and I'll be your instructor throughout this entire course and what we're going to do is kind of take ASP.NET 3.5 apart, look at all the individual pieces. I want to show you how it all works together, show you some very simple examples about Web Forms and how the whole process works and then give you the building blocks and a foundation to work from to begin to build your own web applications and provide some really cool dynamic functionalities across the Web. This is the future of product development; that is, Internet-based applications running through the Web browser and that is exactly what ASP.NET was designed to provide and with the Framework 3.5, Microsoft has introduced a lot of power and functionalities that you used to have to spend a lot of time writing a lot of code and, like I said before, they just continue to streamline this and make it even cooler. So that's where we're headed here, so let's get started.
