So we are turning out of the dynamics module of the program, and this module of the program is used to simulate the physical world and there are number of different tools and approaches to doing so. For instance there is the soft and rigid bodies toolset. I can select these four spheres, and create active/rigid bodies of them. Then I can select the plane and create a passive/rigid body. And now I can apply sort of effects or fields to these rigid or these passive and active/rigid bodies and animation is automatic in this case. So I will select these spheres now and go into my field menu and I will add gravity to these spheres - Ok. And all I have to do is press go, and you will see that the balls will drop, collide with each other and collide with the plane, respond both to each other and gravity at the same time. There are also a number of stock effects that ship with Maya, I am going to show you the fire effect. So I've selected the sphere here, I am going to create fire for the sphere - I have named the object 'fire' and I will click create. And now I will press play, and you'll see that these sort of green circles will emanate from the sphere. And what the software is demonstrating is that these sort of circular pieces of geometry or sprites if you will, show the general movement of the fire, and these are objects or elements that receive a fire texture. Now you would see a very believable fire if we were to render this out. But in hardware shaded view, which is what we are looking at here we are only going to see these green motion indicators. But you can see a fire effect or a number of stock effects including lightning and fireworks ship with the program – we’ll check out fireworks in just a second. So let's just create fireworks. All I did was click on the create fireworks button right there and we'll press play and you'll see that we have automated fireworks. Of course I have to dolly out of this a little bit, there you go - shifts with program and is part of the dynamic module of the program. The other set of tools that ships with the dynamic module of the program is the particle tool. I am going to create an emitter here - this allows you to attempt to simulate water, fire and smoke on your own, any kind of complex particular particle based motion. You have a great degree of control over the path and behavior of the particles. So I am just going to press Play. You'll see that particles emit from the emitter here, Ok, and I'll stop and go all the way back. And I am going to select the particle shape and I will add, a little bit of air there, and go back and press play. And you'll see that the air lifts the particles up. Now I am going to just select the emitter and the air field and I'll set a couple of keyframes on it. I’ll set a keyframe here, and move forward in the timeline and set a keyframe here - comeback I have created motion for the airfield and the particle shape. And you can see that I have created a kind of specific effect, kind of like a train emitting smoke from it's smoke stand. So these are the some of the tools that ship with the dynamics module of the program.
