Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie let's talk about assigning more than one front end template; front end meaning the side that the user sees versus the back end, which is what the administrators use. Right now the entire website goes by this milkyway template but sometimes you'll have special areas of your site that you want to have a different look so in order to do this, you simply just go to Extensions and Template Manager, then you can see all the templates that you have installed. The one that you want to apply to a certain area of your site you simply select the radio button and click Edit. Once you're in there, you have your basic information as you do on all the templates, all your buttons at the top to use with it. What you want to do is click under Menu Assignments, Select from List. Click that radio button. Then in here you choose the item that you want to have this different template. I'm going to choose the Joomla! Overview. I'm going to save that, let it make its application and right there you can see how it is assigned. It's got the green checkmark. So I'll go back to the front page. I'm going to click on Joomla! Overview and right there you can see that page has been changed. I'm going to go to Joomla! License; back to my milkyway template. Go back to the Overview and also see this sub-information here. But again, that is going to be in our milkyway template. So when you use templates, you can use one throughout your entire site but do know you can apply a different template to a different area. Sometimes people use the same template and they just basically have different colors for different areas so that's another option if you want to do that. So take a minute, go try out applying a different template to only a specific area of your site.
