Subtitles of the Movie
Different take here on a truck, multiple shots taken and bringing out again the texture of the rust and the metal which did not come out at all in the standard photograph. It took HDR to bring this out. You can see the wispy clouds in the sky; add a little character, but then the red of the building behind it also. The shot converted to a Quad Tone to emphasis the detail, you can see the grill work of this Pontiac, the foliage and the lights and in that same truck behind it. So you can see from my shots I take a combination, a close up shots of detail verses far away shots and here's more of a mid-range shot. Tree in the foreground in shadow, a normal photograph without a flash or other exposure aids, this would just be dark. You've got the building hit by the sun, so I've got contrast in this photo between the dark of the tree and the light of the building. But HDR allows us to bring them both into the range of this photo and I think the texture and the tree and the bricks, verses the blue sky and the green leaves works very well. Single shot of a man at a festival, a very interesting, semi-artistic, we got different textures between the hair and the beard in his outfit, just another different shot. Here is the more traditional HDR shot of a scene of a landscape scene and what I like, here is the depth here, the depth from the foreground shadows to the bright spots on the grass. Again, contrast, bright water, bright background, very little sky, but the difference in the texture of these leaves makes it a little interesting. Day at a zoo riding a little train around the lake, contrast between the bright sky, shadowy tree, the water and then foliage in the background. Close-up shot of goose, which again was taken without flash, brought out the details of the goose and the water in HDR. Here this was taken in the golden hour at a local farm, clouds, contrast, color, contrast between orange and a green and a white and blue. Details coming out, same day, this taken more toward the sun. You can see sun reflecting off the line of trees, got a nice green field with this track, blue sky. This is a single shot HDR taken of the horses running out and you've got dark clouds with light sky, a lot of different contrasting elements here between the horses and the shadows and the shed. Here we've got another shot, again this one has it all, taken during the golden hour, interesting clouds, a lot of contrast, taken toward the sun which you wouldn't do ordinarily, the beautiful colors. One of my favorites here, the beautiful blue contrasted with the clouds and then this beautiful orange of the tree. Contrast, details and timing. Nice shadowy clouds up here, beautiful color and details on this tree as the sun was going down and then the green foreground. Alright. I think we can wrap this lesson up. Select the scenes that interest you, that you have a passion for, don't be afraid to shoot details or wide expansive landscapes. Be on the look out for contrast, color, details and if you can try shooting during the golden hour.
