Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie we'll talk about using the Snapshots tab. Snapshots are new to CS4. The idea is that you can create multiple versions of your image and save them so that you can open whichever variation you need. For example, I like this color version of my sunflower picture, and I'd like to be able to use this version at times, but I am also curious about it in black and white and think I'd like it in black and white. I'm going to take a snapshot of the color version by coming down here to this little Icon at the bottom of the Snapshot tab and giving it a name. I'm simply going to call this the Color version and click OK. Earlier I had saved a Split Tone Version. Now I'm going to come over to my HSL tab and Convert the Image to Grayscale. I'll brighten up the yellows and I'll darken down the blues and we'll save this as the Black and White version that I like. So, I'll come back over to my Snapshots page, click on the little Icon, and give this a name, which I'll call Black and White, and I'll click OK. I can click on any of these Presets to instantly see how the image looked with that combination of settings. I can also create a snapshot of a particular crop. For example, I could crop it to a 5 by 7 and I'll call this 5 by 7 Black and White. Now I can choose the initial black and white snapshot to see the full image, or the 5 by 7 to see the cropped version of it. Using Snapshots is an easy way to create a lot of different variations of your image. After you save each variation it exists on the Snapshot page, it will still be there after you close Camera Raw, but will be there every time you open this image in Camera Raw. Snapshots are a great feature, enabling you to be creative, but they don't require much additional storage space on the computer since all that needs to be stored are the instructions for modifying the image, rather than having to make a completely new copy of the entire image. Of course, you can continue on to make further modifications to any of the snapshots. I think you'll find that Snapshots are very, very useful.
