Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie we're going to take a look at how to make Batch Changes to groups of images. Often you'll have shot a number of images and it's helpful to be able to apply some changes to a group of the images at once, rather than having to go through each one individually. To begin, select the Thumbnails of the images that you want to Batch process in Bridge. You can click on the first one and Shift-click on the last one if they're all together; alternatively, click on the first one and then Control-click on a PC and Commander Apple-click on each additional image on a Mac. After the images are selected, double-click on one of the Thumbnails, or right-click and choose Open in Camera Raw. You see all the images that you've selected in a column on the left. Begin by making whatever changes you wish to one of the images. For example, on this one, I think I'll begin by checking the White Balance and warming it up a bit. I might also make any changes to Clarity, Vibrance, et cetera. Perhaps making a little bit more midtone Contrast on the image. Perhaps I would adjust my Sharpening. And once I have the various parameters where I like them, then I can select the other images to apply these same changes to. Now I could opt to select All of the images, and I can click on them and Shift-click to choose them, or I could Control-click on a PC, Command-click on a Mac, specific ones, or I could use the Select All button to select all of them. Next, I'm going to click on the Synchronize button. As you can see, I have the option to synchronize the settings for almost all of the Controls that are available in Camera Raw, or I can choose just a subset of them. In most cases I'm going to at least want to choose the White Balance and perhaps the Sharpening. For these I'm going to leave the rest of these items checked and click OK. In short order, all the images are updated. Now I can click on each individual image and further adjust it any way that I'd want, as you'd expect. Batch Processing gives you a bit of the best of both worlds. You can apply the settings to a whole group of images, but you could also go through and make individual tweaks. That way, you're more likely to get through the processing of your images much more quickly.
