Once you have created your masterpiece in Freehand you will need to say that I'll get out the program. Simply go to file, select save and you can save the program. You can also do save as if you want to save it as a second file or third file or a fourth file. You can come back and work on different versions if you would like to. I can also close; this will just close the current document but will keep Freehand open and you can close the document. Closing is different than exit. Close simply closes the document while Freehand stays open. If you exit you actually close the document and exit Freehand, you are done. And you can also use revert. Revert will go back to the original or last saved version of your document. This is handy if you make a series of fairly catastrophic mistakes, which is often quite common. And you can simply just exit and that will close the program. Now when it goes to close the program you have a few options. You can simply exit and not save any changes. You can review which will review each of the open documents and you can decide whether you want to save them or not. Or you can say cancel, which I am going to do and that simply allows you to stay working in Freehand and that document.
