Tools / Polygon

Subtitles of the Movie

The polygon tool allows you to draw polygons or stars. Simply go to the rectangle tool, drop the menu down and select a polygon. Now you can go ahead and just click and drag and you will see polygons. You can rotate these as you draw them. Now again I can draw a polygon and hold the spacebar down and move the polygon where I would like before I click to release it. Let's get rid of these and clean up the artwork a little bit. Let's take a look at some of the options we have working with polygons. Double click the tool and you see how we can change the number of sides from a polygon, from 3 sides up to 20, which is basically a circle. It's nice that you have a preview, you can see what shapes you are going to get as you use the slider. The other thing you can do with polygons is draw stars. Again you can change the sides, actually technically they are not sides they are points. This gives you the number of points for your star, pretty nifty to have. And you can also adjust the angle if you want an acute or an obtuse angle. Again the slider lets you preview and you can also set the angle to automatic or manual. Automatic creates a star that the segments are automatically aligned, manual lets you adjust it yourself. That's a quick look at the polygon tool, which also lets you draw stars.
