Let's take a look at the calligraphic pen tool. Now as the name implies this tool allows you to draw or replicate calligraphy. I am just going to go ahead and draw a character here very quickly. Kind of looks like calligraphy. Let's take a look at some of the options we have to control our lines. Again we have precision, which we can adjust anywhere from 1 to 10. The higher the number the more variables we have inserted as we are drawing our line. The lower the number the less variables we have. You can also click, draw a dotted line; if you want to draw fast it will just draw a dotted line instead of the calligraphic line. Soon as you let go, you get your line back. You can also select the auto remove overlap. I will go ahead and try and replicate this character. And you'll notice that parts of the line overlaps, unlike the drawing on the left, where the black stroke intersects the fill on this. It just creates a kind of a seamless line. That's using the auto overlap turned on. Now we can also go on and control the width. We have 2 choices: we can do a fixed width or we can do a variable width, which is similar to the variable pen tool. Now again I can use the left and right arrow keys to control that width. Left decreases the width, right increases the width based on the values we set in the dialogue box. And the last thing we can do is use the angle wheel to control the angle that our stroke uses for the calligraphic line. That's a look at the calligraphic pen tool.
