Tools / Subselect
Subtitles of the Movie
The next tool I am going to take a look at is the subselect tool. The subselect tool is different than the pointer tool in that it allows you to click an object, path or point rather than the entire object. Here I have clicked the path on the hexagon and then resizing it, reshaping it using the points. I can also click the circle, I am going to grab a handle and just like the pointer tool you can resize and reshape the object. Now here's where the main difference comes in, I am going to create a group and go back to the pointer tool. And I'll click the object, you can see they are grouped and considered as one object. If I grab a handle to resize it, all the objects are resized. If I switch back to the subselect tool, I can pick specific elements within that group. Even though they are grouped I can still use the subselect tool to resize and play with different parts of that grouped object. Again you can grab a handle to resize and that's the subselect tool.
