When you are working with points on a path or lines, different shapes, at some point you are going to want to have the option to either add or delete points. Let's take a look at how we do that. We have 2 different ways: we can use our sub-select tool and we can use our pen tool. let's take a look at the sub-select tool. Simply select the line and I am going to pick a point, to highlight it and then just hit the delete key and it's gone. Again I can use the pen tool to do the same thing. Now Freehand is neat in that it basically has the brains to decide what you are going to do. Unlike some other programs you do not need to hold down a key to switch to the pen tool to either add or subtract points. Simply just put your pen tool over a point and notice how that x changes to little carrot. This indicates that I have a curve there. To get some handles, if I find a handle, here we go, here is a point that doesn't have any bezier handles, it's actually changed to a minus. I'll just simply click and my point is gone. Now if I want to add a point to this path, simply I am going to put my pen tool anywhere where I want to add a point and notice that it changes to a plus sign. I can click and add a point right there. I'll click and add another point, very simple.
