The freeform tool is the tool for you if you don't like messing with bezier handles. Basically the freeform tool allows you to reshape paths without modifying points or handles. We have two modes: push-pull, and reshape the area. We 'll take a look at push-pull first. Push-pull allows you to pull to add new segments or to push to distort the shape of a segment. In the controls you can control the size of the area that is pushed by the tool. You can also adjust the precision field to control the precision amount. The higher the value, the more sensitive the tool is to minor movements. Then we also have a choice of bend by length, which pulls anywhere along the path. And bend between points, which restricts the pull only to existing anchor points. Again you can also set the length of those points. We will use the set by length. Again if you have a pressure sensitive tablet, you can check the size of your length boxes to influence your push-pull. Now let's take a look, and see I'm pushing, it's almost like pushing in dough. I'll go inside the artwork and I'm going to pull it out. Again now it's just almost like kneading out a piece of bread dough with your artwork. Lots of fun to play with this one. Now I'll go take a look at bend between points, and you notice that only the area that's affected is the area between those two points. Again I'm just pulling between points. Now I'm going to push between points, then I can go ahead and reset the circle back to where we started. And let's take a look at the reshape mode. Now reshape mode can distort the path by pulling out the segments from the existing path. The amount of distortion is set in the dialog box. Again we can use size to control the size of the reshape area. We can also set the strength field to control how long the tool will work while we are dragging it. The higher the value, the longer the tool will distort the path. And lastly we can once again set the precision field to control the precision we can have working with this line. Again, the higher the value the more sensitive it is. Once again you have size and length for those of you that are working with a pressure sensitive tab. We'll go ahead and reshape the area. And just click on the circle and continue to drag it out to your heart's content. It's a fun tool again to play with. This is a look at the reshape mode of the freeform tool. Again this is a good tool to just go ahead and experiment, and knock yourself out.
