Let's say you want to create your own custom objects to use in the Graphic Hose tool. How you do that? It's quite simple actually. First you need to have a graphic or an object that you want to use. In this case, I'm just going to create a simple circle, change the fill to a gradient, and make that a radial gradient. I'm going to copy that object. I'm going to go down to our Graphic Hose tool, double click to get the Graphic Hose Panel. Again make sure that this is selected for hose. Here is all of your standard shapes and objects that come with Freehand. I'm going to create a new one, and we will just call this purple and green; and you will see why we call it green in a minute. Go ahead and click Save, select Paste In, I have now pasted in that purple circle here. Now how this works is that it stores objects in a set. This is the name of our set- purple and green. This is object number one. We can have up to ten different objects in here. So, now that that's done, I still have the graphic hose tool selected. I can go ahead and paint with that like so. Now, let's say I want to add some more objects to this. Ok, in this case I will just go ahead and change the gradient to a better green than that. Oh how about this nice lime green. And I'm going to copy that again, Copy, double click the graphic hose tool, make sure I am in the set that I want to be working in. I am going to select Paste In, go ahead and paste in the green circle. Notice that that is now object two, ok, I am going to close this, get that out of the way. And since we are feeling adventurous, go ahead and add a third object. Again copy, double click, paste in, we now have object three. I think we are good to go. Let's see how this works. Let us go ahead and delete that circle with the graphic hose tool selected, and let's go ahead and paint with our own objects that we have just created.
