Fireworks also comes with several plug-ins, let us take a look at those. I will go ahead and select our bitmap image, select effects and then Eye Candy 4000 LE. In here we have three different plug-ins that come with this installed when you install Fireworks. I will select the fist one, which is bevel boss, and here we can make changes and we can see it in real time. Eye Candy gives you the ability to preview the image with this transparent background, and you can see the corresponding results as we make these various changes. We can change the bevel width, height scale, smoothness and so forth. We can deselect and select shade interior. We can place the bevel inside or outside the marquee, and we can also deepen the darker areas - a pretty nice little effect. We can also adjust the lighting; we can adjust the size, the color and so forth. And we can also change the bevel profile, and you can see there is quite a few you can choose from. Go ahead and cancel that out. Let us take a look at another effect, and this one is simply called marble. And this marbleizes the whole area of our bitmap image. And this works both for vector objects, as well as bitmap images. I will go ahead and cancel that out, and I will select our vector object. And take a look at one more option and that is motion trail. And what motion trail does, is leaves sort of a trail behind a particular object, with different options you can choose. You can taper it very extremely, or remove taper altogether. And we can also set the overall level of opacity, as well as the length in pixels. I'm going to go ahead and drag this back, and give it just a little bit of taper to make it interesting, and select OK. And you can see our vector object has now been modified using the plug-in for Eye Candy. Over time as you use Fireworks, you'll create a series of live effects you may wish to apply to various documents and websites and applications as you use the program. And you can save all of your hard work so you don't have to go back and re-create all of the various live effects each time you use them. So for example, we will go ahead and save this particular live effect of the outer bevel and motion trail as a style. With this object selected I can click on effects>options, and then save as style. And you can see a visual representation we have here in the left hand corner. And we can also give this style a particular name. We'll call it “vector sweep”, and I'll select Ok. And now that style has been added to my style panel in the left hand side here on the screen. And now that style has been added to my style panel in the left hand side here on the screen.
