Tweening is another method that you can use to create animation in Fireworks. Tweening is a traditional animation term that describes the process in which a lead animator draws only the key frames, the frames that contain major changes, while assistants draw the frames in between. In Fireworks tweening blends two or more instances of the same symbol, creating interim instances with interpolated attributes. Tweening is a manual process useful for more sophisticated movement of an object across the canvas, and for objects whose live effects change in each frame of the animation. I'm going to go ahead and select our red star that we used before, and drag one instance to the left side of our canvas. And then drag another instance of the symbol to the right side. And with both instances selected go to modify, symbol, and then ‘tween instances'. Tween instances dialogue box appears and we can choose how many steps we want the tweening to occur. I'll go ahead and go with the default of 10, and I want to distribute to frames. In other words, I want each step to become a frame. I'll select ok, and you can see now we have our frames. Let's go ahead and play the animation. And sure enough you can see our star moving from one end of the canvas to the other end of the canvas. e end of the canvas to the other end of the canvas.
