Macromedia Contribute 2 Tutorials

Contribute Customization / Keyboard Shortcuts

Subtitles of the Movie

Now when you get handy with Contribute2 and you want to speed up your work flow process and make yourself a little more efficient its important that you start learning the shortcuts. And the keyboard shortcuts are basically what the name implies its the shortcut to a command. So instead of getting carpel tunnel syndrome clicking around insert, special characters, paypal image, bookmarks, view and rolling through this whole thing you start to learn the keyboard shortcuts. Those keyboard shortcuts are listed right here. You can do control A or select all, lets go to a page and will take look at how some of these work. So basically most of the shortcuts you are going to need are actually given to you in the menu. So for instance if I want to copy some text I can go down here to the main menu, select copy and then will just hit enter and we can go back up here and paste. You can see how long that took. Now, I can undo that by clicking here or let us start using a shortcut and I am going to hit control Z, on my keyboard that did that. Now if I want to highlight this text again see what is my shortcut for copy, ah! control C let us try that, highlight my text hit control C and I will put my cursor where I want to paste the text and what is the shortcut copy for that control V, ok let us try that. My cursor back down there control V on the keyboard and away we go. So let us get with that again which is control, any guesses control Z and we are back in business. So these shortcuts come with time, you know my advice to you is every time you work with Contribute try and add one shortcut to your toolbar, it is a great way of speeding up the program and you just become a wizard and start flying. Now for the tutorial I am going to be using the menu commands to show you where I am finding these commands and so you are not confused with me all of a sudden and say, hey how did he get from from point A to point B, I did not see him doing anything. So I am going to be using menu commands through out the tutorial, but I would encourage you to try and learn the shortcuts to make your life a lot easier. ]
