During the earlier process of creating a new Company File you may have noticed that there's one feature that we didn't cover, and that is the Easy Setup Assistant. When we arrived at this dialog we selected the Command Centre button, but we could have selected the Setup Assistant button instead and in fact, once you become confident with all of the Setup Procedures that we're going to be covering in this course you may make a habit of selecting it at this stage during the creation of new Company Files. But for now we're only going to touch on it briefly, that's because we're going to be visiting this Setup Assistant repeatedly as we progress through this course. Once we've covered everything that this Setup Assistant involves I strongly suggest that you return to it and get used to how you can set up new Company Files quickly and easily using it. Let's have a look at this Setup Assistant. It's divided into five areas and each one lets you set up a particular area of your Company File. The first one, Customise, lets you apply general settings: how you enter data, how things are displayed, contact log settings and so on. The second one, Accounts, let you quickly set up your Account List and Account Opening Balances. The next one, Sales, lets you choose a layout for your Invoices, set basic selling options and tax codes, specify your accepted payment methods and terms, set up sales account linking, and create customer cards. It also lets you enter historical sales, or sales with unpaid balances as at your Conversion date. Moving on, the Purchases Area allows you to make pretty much the same choices as the Sales Area except, of course, for purchases instead of sales. And finally, the Payroll Area lets you set up your employees, wages, deductions, taxes, and most related things. As I mentioned, we'll eventually make our way through this whole area of MYOB during the rest of this course, so for now let's move on to the next lesson.
