Lightwave system requirements for Mac and pc like any other high and graphics or film making application requires a pretty decent computer system but I have successfully used Lightwave on a machine that everyone was very surprised about, a 466-Megahertz iBook. That being said for optimal results, your computer should have at least a 32 MB video card, a display of millions of colors and a two or more button mouse. For those of you who wish to use a digital tablet such as a Wacom, feel free because there is a setting you can turn on to enable its use. Let me show you that right now. When you are in Lightwave, press O on the keyboard to open up the preferences. As you see here, where it says input device, you can choose between mouse or tablet. I already have the tablet button pushed in but if you want to use a mouse, press this button here. I will be using a G4 933 Megahertz system with a 64 MB and video card. 768 MB of RAM on a 21 inch Apple cinema display monitor. Since I normally spend hours at a time on the computer, I often switch between using the Wacom tablet and a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro Trackball. When you need to get your sketches into the computer, a good scanner and imaging software come in pretty handy as well. Fortunately, it is rare that you will have to scan art unless you have found a texture that you have illustrated outside of the computer.
