Here let's create a theme of our own here. Here we have a slide, and I am going to the View menu and turn on Show Master Slides. Here are the master slides for my document that we created in the previous lesson. I can actually pick and choose one of the master slides, so I can design this master slide. What I am going to do is open up a folder that has a graphic in it. Now, I am going to go ahead and drag one of the files, one of the picture files, it's a .png file - PNG, portable network graphic. And I am going to bring that in just by dragging and dropping. Now, that's one way you could bring it in, but there is an easier way than this. Go ahead and find the redbackground.png and we'll drag and drop it into our document, and close out this folder. We don't need it anymore. And I will slide this over carefully. Now we will choose the master slide, and here you see is our graphic. What we're going to do is choose the image that we wish to fill this slide, and this is an easier way of doing it, rather than dragging and dropping. And then we will go hunting for our file, and there is our redbackground.png. Let's go ahead and import that. And it's immediately placed on the background and it will stretch to fit. Then I'll delete the one that I dragged and dropped, because I don't need it. Slide this over. Now you see that our master slide has a red background. Now, if I want to choose a slide and delete a slide, it's very interesting. I get a dialogue box that pops up asking me, 'do I wish to replace the slide that I am presently deleting?' And let's just take a look at that. And here is the dialogue box. I'll just move my trusty Inspector out of the way, and I will replace it with this blank slide. I'm going to go ahead and choose another slide such as the pie chart or perhaps the body text. You can choose the proper side. Let's go ahead and choose the pie chart once again. We can save this project as a theme, and it gives it a special file extension - .kth: Keynote theme. And we could save in our themes folder. If were to prompt the themes by clicking the theme button, the dialogue box will appear showing the theme that I saved. If we move our Inspector out of the way, scroll down, you'll see the theme that we saved. Which is right here. Now this theme will be freshly applied to a new Keynote file. Now, the theme will import, and there is the theme. And notice that not every single slide has a background. So, we can choose that master slide background like a cell, and then we can bring out another background. If we want to change it to the master slide, you select the master slide, choose the Inspector, choose master slide and import a background image for this master slide. And you would have to do just to each and every master slide, or you can hold shift and multi-select. er slide, or you can hold shift and multi-select.
