Keynote Basics / Navigator View

Subtitles of the Movie

Let's talk about the navigator. The navigator is a way that you can organize your slide. It's here on the left side. In order to work with this, you may want to open up this particular lesson. This is your navigator and these are the slides in your navigator. I can click on a slide within my navigator, and you make sure your navigator is turned on. If I click on one side and move up and over, it will actually indent my slide - meaning that there are two slides are grouped together. If I move it outside, they are not together. It's a separate slide. So you can group slides together for your organization. Here is the Inspector. This is the Slide Inspector. We're going to click that, and you see there are different masters that you can choose for your particular slide. What I'm going to do is hold down Shift and select all three slides. And from the bottom of our slide inspector, I'm going to choose a actual image to fill all these slides. And now I want to choose a transition. Transition is a special effect in between slides. And I'm going to select twirl, and I can control the speed of the transition as well. If I click play, here's your slide, if we, click it twirls out and twirls in. 2nd slide, click again, twirls out and twirls in, and that's the 3rd slide. Now we click to exit the presentation. So if I want to change my transitions, I have to select all the slides by holding down Shift, choose the proper transition, and go ahead and click play again. Slide 1, slide 2, click again and slide 3. Now, what we're actually going to take look at is the navigator close up. I can click on one slide and move it to the top. Now, it's out of order, and I can click on the 3rd slide and move it to the middle. And you can drag and drop the order of your slides. So, the navigator is very important. You can hide the navigator from the view menu. the navigator from the view menu.
