Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie let's try one more extension. What I did again was go through these popular items. There's one for a simple image gallery. We can add image galleries inside our Joomla! articles. Notice it's just a plug-in. When we click Download, and I've actually already downloaded the item, it took me over here so I can read more information about it. And then also, when you click on those links to download the extensions, sometimes you have to scroll down to actually find the one that you need to install because a lot of times some of these sites will have numerous extensions. So I went ahead, I selected that download and went ahead and brought down this zip file. So let's go to our Extension Manager and let's browse and find it. And let's upload it and install it. Now, it's told me the plug-in was a success. If I go to my plugins link there I should be able to scroll through there and find it. There's the Simple Image Gallery Plugin. I can also go to my Extensions and my Plugin Manager there and again, see that extension and see that it's plugged in. I can read more about it. It tells me my usage instructions. Says create a folder anywhere inside the Stories Folder within the images and upload all my images there. And then it gives me the rest of my directions. So as you can see, you can install these extensions but you've really got to read through and make sure you know how to utilize each one of them. You can also have a navigation tip, whether or not you want to display a nice message, thumbnail size, height, width. You can add all those specifics in there and you've got an image gallery element that you have added to your Joomla! install. Now, on all of these extensions the one thing to keep in mind is don't get frustrated when you install extensions. Sometimes they won't work. You might not have the right level of PHP installed, therefore the extension will not work. You may not have something working correctly in your Joomla! installation for that specific extension. Most of the time you're going to have good luck and no problems but once in a while you are going to run into different ones. You also need to make sure you get the full package. If you only install one little module, you may need that component to be able to work with this full extension so you need to make sure that you get everything. If they have them separated out, make sure you get all of the items you need to make it work. So what I want you to do is go ahead, go to Extension.joomla.org and grab a few extensions and just practice installing them. Also read about them, see if you can figure out how you would use them on your site.
