Subtitles of the Movie

In this movie let's continue working with our Banners. We've got a banner created. Let's use the Module so that we can actually get that up on our site and make it viewable. I'm going to click New in my Module Manager. Now I'm in the back-end again of my Module Manager, let's me select a specific item. It tells you right there on Banners. I'm going to let that banner be viewable on our site. You want to make sure that you label these items specifically so you know what they are because you may just disable a banner for a while and then a customer may pay for it again for the next month so you can re-enable it. Where you want it at; I'm going to put it at the footer of the page. No there's no order to worry about. We'll only have the one. All these defaults I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave the target as the new window so they'll go outside, look at this advertisement. But again, when they close that, they're back to me. They can see my site. The count, the banner client; I've only got one banner here and category; if I want that search by tags. Remember, that'll let them if they search on my website and that tag matches the keywords, it will display this banner. Whether or not it's sticky. Header text, footer text, advanced parameters. I'm going to leave those as is. And I'm going to go ahead and hit Save. I'm going to go to my front-end now and refresh, scroll down here and there's my banner. I did leave the title showing. Sometimes that's important, sometimes not. If I don't want that title I'll simply go open up this module, tell it now on the Show Title Option, go back here, refresh and it's in the footer area and it does not have that title. It's linkable; if I click it, it's taking me to the Joomla! link, how I set it up. All your advertisers I would assume want it linkable so it will take them to their site. If you want to sell banners on your site, just make up a chart listing of costs, sizes of banners accepted, locations, et cetera and also banner type. Do you want the PNG file type? Do you want a Shockwave one that can move around and be a little bit more of a flashy one? Make sure that your users provide the link that they need. Then you can post that advertising chart on your site, put an advertising link. At the bottom typically is where they're located so people can click that and find out how much it would cost to advertise on your site. Make it easy. Make them a form where they can type in all that information you need and go ahead and upload the item. That way they can do it all at once. And also don't forget, those same banners or those same graphics, you can put those advertisements in your newsletters and charge for that also. So there's lots of options. Anything that links up with your business, your website, your newsletters, use those items and offer those people advertisements so you can make a little bit of extra money.
