In this last tutorial on jQuery I want to take a moment to review what we've learned so far about jQuery. Now here we do have our finished application that pre-populates and does all sorts of great stuff. I'm going to go ahead and jump back over to Dreamweaver here and take a look at the JavaScript code that we created. So, what we learned, if you recall, first thing we started talking about how we can initialize our document using document. ready. Everything else ends up being inside of here or outside of it in its own standalone function. jQuery uses anonymous function calls quite a bit. You don't have to do that if you don't feel comfortable doing it that way; you could make it a standalone function if you wanted to. We discussed the jQuery Selector. The jQuery Selector allows us to do you know, essentially the same thing as getElementByID, getElementByTagName, as well as some very sophisticated selection filters. We looked at a number of different types of filters including: selecting everything but something; selecting items with a certain set of strings inside of it; we also took a look at how we can manipulate the values of form elements; we looked at how we can manipulate Cascading Style Sheet information; we also looked at how we can manipulate various attributes of elements. We also took a look at how you could write dynamically to the page using both text and .html, right there. We looked at Event Handling. We set up click boxes; click events for check boxes, as well as input boxes; we set up blur Event Handlers for our input boxes as well. We also looked at simple animation using the slideToggle as well as slideUp and slideDown. We also took a look at Ajax and how simple it is to get Ajax set up, and then we took a look at how we can use Plugins and where we can find out more information about various Plugins and how we can manipulate those Plugins for our applications. So in the end we do have a pretty nice, robust application that has a lot of functionality. Now of course because I built this page it's not necessarily the slickest thing in the world, but it does have some great functionality in here that, you know, I'd be proud of to say, Òhere's an application that you can use.Ó So that's jQuery and application.
