Downloading Oracle Software. Open up a browser, go to Oracle.com, I'm going to go to the Downloads Link, Database 11g and click the Database 11g Link. There's a Radio Button, I'm going to click Accept. I'm going to go to Microsoft Windows 32-bit and click See All. I'm again going to click the Accept License Agreement Radio Button and I'm going to click Windows 32 11g R2 Client Zip. I'm going to download the Oracle Client only for Windows 32-bit. In other words I'm going to install the Oracle Client Software onto my laptop. Click this button, it's going to ask me to sign with a username and password, I already have one. If you don't they will ask you to create one including giving out your name and address details, contact information as well as a few emails that confirm who you are and where you are. So I'm going to sign in now and here it gives me the option to download the file. I don't want to open it because it's a zip file, it's not executable. I'm going to save the file and then click OK and it's going to store it into my default Windows directory. If I right-click and pick the Open Containing Folder, here it is downloading into my Windows directory. Now if I wanted to download something else, I'm going to open another browser because I don't want to disturb that one, go to Oracle.com again. As you can see I'm already logged in here, I'm going to mouse over or roll over on Downloads again, click Database 11g. I'm going to click Accept, now what I'm going to do is I'm going to install a Linux X86 32-bit version of Linux on a Database Server and I'm going to click See All. Again, I'm going to click Accept in order to do my installation, I need these two files here. I may also use the grid file later on to install Oracle Rack and perhaps the Deinstall to remove Oracle cleanly. Not at this point though. At this point I'm not going to download anything because I'm going to let my Windows download complete. But my next step would be to download these two files. That's how you download Oracle software.
