Introduction to Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Tutorials

Welcome / Introduction

Subtitles of the Movie

Hello, and welcome to the Introduction to Visual Studio 2008 Tutorial Series, brought to you by the Virtual Training Company. My name is Mark Long and I'll be your instructor for this Series, and I'm very happy to be bringing this to you. I'd like to welcome you to the Course and tell you a little bit about what you're in for here, and what we're going to do, but first let me tell you a little bit about myself. I live in Nashville, Tennessee. I always tell my students you might notice a bit of an accent. Those of you who are in the northern and western United States, and then if you're in a country other than the United States then you're going to notice an accent, anyway, but now there's an even more bizarre twist on that accent, so I hope it doesn't distract you. I actually get Emails from some folks saying they enjoy it, so anyway. Let me tell you a little bit about myself as we get started here. I've got over 20 years experience in the IT industry. I'm a Microsoft Certified trainer, I hold a number of their certifications in various areas, and I've had my hands in development and just all things Microsoft for a long time, and I'm more than happy, actually honored, to be bringing this Course to you. In this Course we're going to look at Microsoft's Visual Studio 2008 Development Environment and we're just going to kind of go through some of the pieces and parts and functionalities and show you how you can use Visual Studio 2008 to build your own applications. And for the most part I'm going to go through a lot of hands-on here, go through the actual Interface itself, talk about all sorts of things that'll get you out and going, get you productive with Visual Studio 2008, and of course, pay close attention to those things that have been enhanced or changed since previous versions. So, that's what we're about here. Thanks for being on board, and I look forward to bringing this information to you, so let's just get started.
